It was only announced last week, yet today Google launched Google Goggles – its mobile and Android App for identifying photographs. You take a snap, the tool tags it with geo data so it knows where you are, then Google attempts to identify it and send you some facts about it by return, augmented-reality style.
We don’t believe for a second it’ll work on anything other than the Golden Gate Bridge, the Statue of Liberty or the Moon, but Google Goggles is free and out now, so you might as well give it a go. All you have to lose is ten minutes of your life and a bar or so of your phone battery.
Yet another way Google is working to stop us having to learn or remember anything.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
