PDANet is AWESOME. Very, very amazing. It works, too. You download the app via the Android Market, install the PC version from the maker’s web site, then plug your Android mobile into your computer via a USB cable (or use Bluetooth, but I didn’t bother trying that, learning one new thing a day is challenging enough).
And why would you do that? To tether your laptop to your mobile, or, to put it in layman’s terms the internet can understand, to use your mobile phone’s 3G or GPRS connection to browse the internet on your computer, freeing yourself from having to steal someone else’s wi-fi or PAY to use the internet.
The first time I used PDANet I was astounded – web pages appeared on my laptop as fast as if I was connected via wi-fi to my home internet account. I wasn’t, I’m not setting up a joke about how technically inadequate I am – PDANet is that awesome and works that well. It’s a rare genuine must-have app.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
