Grooveshark has been promising to launch its mobile music streaming service for months, with previews and development versions doing the rounds among privileged sorts since late last year.
But now it’s official – the Android version of Grooveshark Mobile has “gone live” as we can’t get enough of saying, and here it is…
Grooveshark Mobile is up on the Android Market now, requiring Android versions 1.5, 1.6 or 2.0 to work, or you can have it emailed directly to you from the maker’s site, as if you’re some sort of important person who can’t be bothered messing about searching for it. A BlackBerry version has also been made available, while, for the second time tonight, we get to feel a bit smug about the iPhone app not yet being up.
But there is a catch…

Grooveshark has been priced to beat Spotify, that’s for sure, but you’ll have to be signed up to the “VIP Service” through the maker’s site if you want to, like, actually use it. Download it without signing up, and all you’ll be able to do is stare at the app’s login screen. Like I’m doing now.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
