Google’s Mario Queiroz has just rambled on about the history of Google Android, pointing out that one year ago the OS was supported by “One device in one country” and now runs on “more than 20 devices in 48 countries” – but that’s not all.
He also showed off the Nexus One. That’s it. It exists. It’s really called Nexus One. Google thinks it’s so amazing it should be called a “superphone” – it transcends mere smartphone status!
Mario then congratulated the Nexus One’s maker HTC in taking risks – and backing Android was a HUGE RISK this time last year, one that’s now paying off splendidly for HTC.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
