Nexus One shipping to the UK NOW – coming to Europe in "spring" 2010 via Vodafone

Great news! – the unlocked version of Google’s Nexus One is shipping NOW to the UK! As well as the United States, Google is ready to ship the contract-free version of its phone to three other international test market – the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The company also made a promise that the Nexus will be available throughout the rest of Europe via the Google Web Store with a Vodafone contract from “spring” whenever that may be.

So… wait until Spring, or spend $529 on an unlocked one that should arrive in a few days if you live in the UK. WE LIVE IN THE UK! It’s awesome for us UK people to be “in the loop” from day one. Probably not going to blow £400 on importing one right at this very minute, though.

There are a few US mailbox services you might be able to use, where they set you up with a US mailing address then forward your US-based orders onto the “Rest of the World”.

Would only add to the cost though, sadly.

You brave man – I reckon UK customs will be all over them. It;ll be one hell of a surcharge if it gets stopped for VAT.

Hope it gets through OK, please let us all know when it arrives. And invite me around for a play on it :)
