Just to recap – you can get yourself an unlocked Nexus One RIGHT NOW if you live in the UK and fancy taking the risk of getting a very delicate piece of technology shipped about 5,000 miles and kicked all the way through UK customs…
…but we’re not used to buying phones full-price here in the UK without a lovely operator subsidy, so it’s very good news to learn that the Nexus will be available with a Vodafone contract in “weeks”, as a Vodafone spokesperson told news agency AFP today. Saying this:
“I can confirm that Vodafone is the first operator to partner with Google to offer the Nexus One in Europe, starting soon in the UK, in a few short weeks. No detail on pricing and precise timing has yet been made, but that will come in a few weeks”
We’re not sure there’s a difference between normal “weeks” and these new “short weeks” the Vodafone rep is going on about, but still. Hopefully we’ll all be able to start blagging upgrades to the Nexus One via Vodafone in the UK very soon.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
