“It’s not just a phone, it’s a collector’s item” – is how T-Mobile is trying to convince people to buy an Android phone that’s bordering-on but not-quite last-generation technology. T-Mobile has also laid down the BIG BUCKS and got Eric Clapton on board to promote its Fender Edition myTouch 3G.
If anyone can convince your dad it’s time to upgrade his Nokia 3310 to something a bit more modern, it’s Eric Clapton.
Although it won’t be Eric Clapton having to explain to dad how to work the bloody thing, will it? No, Eric Clapton, that’ll be US. You swan off with your money, leaving us to spend several hours a day telling dad how Android’s contacts system works. Thanks for NOTHING, Eric.
We’re sure there is a very important man at T-Mobile really regretting this idea right now. Spend loads of money making a limited edition of a phone no one’s talking about any more? Madness. Still like the look of it, though, just not enough to lift a finger to organise getting one.
It even comes with “totally custom” wood-style headphones. Nice. But the world has moved on.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ January 16, 2010Hey enough with your basic consumerism! This device may be “so 2009″ to you but it is still perfectly fine. I can’t believe this.
