Another terrible Motorola concept phone – the MOTOSPLIT

According to Engadget, this ludicrously HORRIBLE idea for a possible new Android phone is being taken seriously, and could actually be a first look at one of Motorola’s new products for 2010.

The way the MOTOSPLIT is very thin is nice, everything else about it is BAD. We much prefer the mooted Nexus Two / SHADOW from a couple of weeks back. That one at least looked usable.

It hurts to look at it, let alone think about using that awful split QWERTY keyboard. Let’s hope this is a mere concept that will stay on Motorola’s drawing board and out of our shops.

  1. Actually, those sorts of split keyboards aren’t necessarily bad. I had a Nokia device that worked on the same principle (sorry, I forget the model #).

    • I suppose they’re OK if you’re good enough at typing and don’t have to keep looking where the letters are. I’d do my eyes in after two minutes on one of those.

  2. @Murphy Nokia 6822/20

I would prefer this one, instead of the shadow

  3. Exactly, the keyboard is very similar in usage to the old Nokia E70 which was actually quite usable.

I would use that form-factor again in a heartbeat.

  4. Looks sexy!
