Google has announced the official arrival of Google Earth on Android, and has used the launch of the planet browser as one enormous advert for the company’s Google-branded Nexus One smartphone.
Claiming that Google Earth runs at a resolution of 800 x 480 on the Nexus and is the “fastest” mobile version yet thanks to Android 2.1 and phones like the Nexus and DROID, Android Google Earth also includes Google’s new ‘Voice Search’ tool – so you’re able to speak place names, then hope it gets what you mean.
It doesn’t look that great, to be honest – it’s reminiscent of PlayStation1-era 3D graphics and textures. But nice to have.
Get Android Google Earth now via the Android Market if your phone’s a glorious Android 2.1 model, or have Google’s internet slaves send it direct to your phone from here.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
