Poor old Motorola Europe has been forced into addressing its angry European users head-on, issuing a sprawling apology on its Facebook page last night, addressing all sorts of complaints – slow updates, the “insensitive” Moto Pic Monday (in the face of broken camera bugs), custom ROMs and everything.
Poor Motorola Europe. We suspect the idea of engaging with your users via social media doesn’t seem like such a good idea today. Here’s the company’s amazing bases-covering apology.
Hi everyone,
We want to thank you again for all your posts – we are paying attention and doing our best to resolve the issues you’ve raised.
Many of you have been waiting (patiently!) for our latest Android updates – the testing/approvals process is still ongoing. We don’t want to provide you with any incorrect information, so as soon as we receive confirmed final dates, we’ll definitely share this with you. We will also provide progress reports to share how everything is going – hopefully we’ll have more details to share as early as this week.
For custom ROMs, we’ve relayed your feedback and requests to the proper internal teams and will continue to do so. We appreciate your input.
As for Moto Pic Monday, we’re sorry that this post seemed insensitive to some Milestone owners experiencing difficulty with the camera focus – we dislike fuzzy photos as much as you do and we’re working on that. For those who shared a nice picture, thank you. For those who shared a blurry shot, duly noted.
We also want to know what you’d like to see on our page aside from news/updates on the topics above. We have a diverse group of people in our growing community, and we want to make sure to provide you all with the content and information you’re looking for.
Please keep your questions/comments coming – we’re here to help (and we’re not just saying that- we really mean it). We know we have to work hard to keep you informed and happy – we’ll continue to take your feedback and look to improve our page and service.
Thanks,
Motorola Europe
And all this has come about because the Android 2.0.1 bug-fixing update for the Euro-spec Motorola MILESTONE is yet to roll out across most European countries – although the French are happy.
