Here’s a little video of a man called Gustaf having his photo taken in the depressing and featureless halls of the Sony Ericsson building. It shows off how the X10’s face recognition technology works, with the X10 managing to recognise Gustaf from past photos and tag the resulting shot with his name. Clever stuff.
We like this video because poor old Gustaf doesn’t look very happy about having his photograph taken. He’d be much happier back at his desk on Twitter, by the look of it:
There’s much more in the way of explanation about the X10’s photo features and face recognition technology in a massive post on the Sony Ericsson blog today.
The X10 itself, meanwhile, is still holding steady for a March/April release – as in, no one’s said anything about it being further delayed yet today.

Hi,
I’m glad you like the video! Just two minor clarifications :-)
1) The video is not shot at Sony Ericsson’s premises, but off-site
2) I quite liked having my photo taken, even if the video could give the opposite impression
