There was obviously a bit of an online kerfuffle about Retro Calculator, the fantastic little calc app for Android, with the maker releasing a new update that removes all on-screen advertising – and returns the app’s icon to an earlier version.
Here’s the change. Yes, we’re doing news on a NEW LOGO. There really is no end to the tedious details we can report on now, thanks to gaining grab access.
And there’s the icon. The “new” logo is the one on the left, while the “old” one is on the right. The “old” one is now the new “new” one, after people moaned they didn’t like the stylised refresh and campaigned for the original logo to be returned. Some people have even less to keep them occupied than we do.
The maker says the fantastic app is now ad-free forever – presumably because he’s RAKING IT IN thanks to releasing a version of it on iPhone. Retro Calculator is genuinely one of our favourite apps out there, even if we never actually use it. It’s used as a “conversation piece” mainly.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
