Superb mobile portal XDA-Developers has a little news piece on the work of modder “metalhead8816″ today, in which it mentions his modding of the Nexus One’s trackball.
Bizarre but true. The custom additions let Nexus One users wake up the phone by poking at its trackball, with an additional second hack also adding support for the Android music player – track skipping by “double clicking” the trackball without having to wake up the screen.
Who would’ve thought a trackball could be so versatile?

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
