Digg, the social news phenomenon that was a social news phenomenon waaaaay before all the other social news phenomena, is working on a custom Android app – much to the relief of its super-geeky followers. If ever a site needed an Android app, it’s Digg.
The news was confirmed earlier today via Digg’s Community Twitter account, and we’ve screencaptured the revelation here, for posterity:
Digg has just today released a custom iPhone app to replace and improve upon its previous mobile web portal, you see, which is why everyone’s suddenly clamouring for an Android version of the tool. Link via AndroidandMe.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
