A bizarre clash of the old and the new, this one, with the BBC News Listen & Tweet app combining a live streaming feed of the BBC’s famed World Service radio offering with… a collection of Tweets that mention the BBC.
It is an app that both you and your Grandad can enjoy.
It’s technically a brilliant creation, but the problem is once you’ve got the radio stream up and running it clogs up your wireless connection, meaning the Tweets and listings tabs take an absolute age to load. But if you just want to have your Android phone working as a little World Service radio, it’s great. Read more about it on the maker’s blog.
And here’s the QR code, seeing as the maker put one up.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
