Software developer Nuance has revealed its new T9 Trace alternate keyboard, giving us all another line-drawing typing option for super-fast texting. Incorporating predictive text and automatic spelling correction, the system also includes “Next Word Prediction” – T9 Trace’s attempt to see into the future of your typing and guess your next word.
Here’s a look at the current build. We can only hope the makers of Swype are flattered, not angered:
Read the full press release over on Nuance’s site. It hasn’t launched yet – and the way Nuance references “hardware partners” and “OEMs” in its press release makes us believe it’s following Swype’s route in hoping to get T9 Trace installed on Android phones by networks and phone manufacturers, rather then distributing it direct through the Android Market.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
