HTC Legend – yours for £369, SIM-free and unlocked, from April 12

The HTC Legend’s been tearing up the internet recently and earning itself some rave reviews this week, and it looks like HTC could be about to hit the sweet spot between a compromise on size – it has a middle-of-the-road 3.2″ screen – and an affordable price tag.

Play.com, the place everyone in the UK buys their DVDs from, has started offering the Legend for £369 in an unlocked form, significantly less than the £439 it wants for a Desire. And miles less than the poor old Sony Ericsson X10, which is disappearing off wishlists by the day.

Look. Some proof.

With the Desire also looking like it’ll be a costly top-tier phone when it arrives on subsidised tariffs, if the major networks can get the Legend out on a standard 18 month contract for, say, £25 a month or thereabouts, it ought to be a SMASH.
