If you erroneously purchased a Compaq-badged, HTC-manufactured iPAQ ‘Pocket PC’ device a long, long time ago, that investment might finally be about to pay off – HTC today announced a competition where iPAQ owners can win a HOT NEW HTC Legend Android phone.
All you have to do is take a photo of yourself with your iPAQ then ping it off the HTC via Twitter – and you might pick up a Legend. It’s that easy.
Here’s how HTC announced the compo on Twitter a short while ago:
“It’s the 10th anniversary of the iPAQ going on sale. This was the device that started it all for HTC. To celebrate, we’re holding a contest.
“Reply to us (use @HTC not D, not email) with a picture of you and your iPAQ (no photoshop!) and you could win a new HTC Legend.
“Every 10th valid picture we receive wlll win a new HTC Legend until we have given away 10 of them. Starting NOW.
And Here’s one of the first entries so far…
Good luck, mate! And sorry. But you did knowingly put the photograph on the internet, so should’ve been aware of what could happen. We predict much hilarity to unfold over the next couple of days. In fact, it already is…
We think HTC may have accidentally kicked off a massive internet ‘thing’ here, for entirely the wrong reasons.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
