A touching update has just “gone live” to Google’s stunning and innovative Sky Map Android app, with today’s new 1.5 enhancement including an image gallery from the Hubble Space Telescope – which is coincidentally celebrating its 20th birthday this week. Happy birthday, amazing space-eye!
The Sky Map app also includes “Magnetic Correction” which we presume should fix the slightly off-angle views it can sometimes deliver, plus “Internationalization” – whatever Google means by that. More languages? More parts of the sky covered? We haven’t downloaded it yet so can’t give you any more data.
The shockingly basic official Google Sky Map site has not yet been updated with the full details of v1.5 of the app, but do trust us on this – it’s up on the Android Market for downloading right now, if you’re in a supported region.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
