Speaking (probably by email, we’d imagine) to PC world today, Google denied internet rumours that its stunning Maps Navigation tool is about to be announced for iPhone. Which is great, because as we discovered earlier this week, Maps Navigation is GREAT – and iPhone users clearly don’t deserve it.
Here’s what Google said about the very idea of Maps Navigation on Steve Jobs’ portable Jesus:
“We did not say we would bring it to iPhone, we said to date we’ve had it on Android and that in the future it may come to other platforms but did not confirm this will be coming to iPhone at all”
Here’s Maps Navigation in action. It also lets you turn right:
Of course, it might still come to iPhone in the future. The old “we have nothing to announce” announcement doesn’t really mean anything at all. Although we’d say Maps Navigation is one seriously big ACE in Android’s HOLE – so surely it’d be well worth keeping exclusive to Google phones anyway?

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ April 26, 2010I’d bet it’s NOT coming to iPhone, as clearly it gives Googles Android platform yet another advantage…
The fact they had to come out and clarify that it’s not coming, clearly suggests this.
