Motorola STILL delaying MILESTONE Android 2.1 release

Blimey, for a few happy weeks there we completely forgot the MILESTONE existed! But no! The thing is still around and Motorola Europe is still angering the HELL out of its customers by further delaying the 2.1 update – this time due to “operator approvals” to ensure it’s compatible with all the various networks the SIM-free phone has been connected to.

Here’s the latest groveling apology from the poor person in charge of community liaison at Motorola:

“We regret to say the UK 2.1 update has suffered further delays and been pushed back at least another 2 weeks. Additional operator approvals are now required which were not planned for originally. As we don’t want to cause any further disappointment, we will now post about the update only once the launch date is 100% confirmed. Sincere apologies for the frustration caused and thanks for your continued patience”

And here’s the phone, this time showing off its little golden button:

Make sure you read the latest bitter Facebook thread – loads of angry Motorola users are complaining, and getting very annoyed about the lack of news on DEXT updates as well. The sooner Google comes up with a plan to end this bizarre OS fragmentation situation the better – it’s becoming a serious problem.

That ought to be point #1 on your next meeting agenda, Google people.
