Vodafone: Nexus One launching April 30 – pre-orders open now

Hooray! After sort of hinting at it last week, Vodafone UK has today confirmed an arrival date for Google’s Nexus One “superphone” on its network – and it’ll be ready on April 30. You’re able to pre-order it now on the network’s Nexus page if you’ve been waiting nervously for this moment since the Android phone was revealed back in January.

The Nexus One is being priced rather high, though, with the cheapest Vodafone tariff currently listed at £35 per month – top whack. Here is it, with Vodafone officially referring to it as the “Nexus One from Google“…

Vodafone’s £35-per-month tariff does at least include 1GB of mobile internet use, which is twice the usual 500MB “guideline” you get on its cheaper tariffs, so that’s at least something positive.

Also, Vodafone is promising “next day” delivery on the Nexus, and also lets you pick the phone up at a local store when you order, so it looks like the handset will NOT be sent from Google. We’ll try to get a bit of clarification on that, as it’d take a lot of worry out of the buying process if it’s being supplied direct from Vodafone in the UK rather than posted halfway around the world from Google US.
