Google’s Android-related I/O conference is now underway, and the company is starting off with a little round-up of the successes and milestones Android has achieved during its first 18 months of life.
Such as…
- There are now over 60 compatible Android devices around the world, from the “leading consumer electronics companies” out there.
- In Feb of 2010, 60,000 Android phones were being activated per day – but that’s now up to 100,000.
And Google says it’s up to 50,000 applications in the Android Market. It’s all started off very well, basically.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

I think I just heard Steve Jobs crap himself…

/ May 20, 2010@Mark LOL. Yes, here we come. Maybe before too long we won’t even bother with Jobs and his followers. A more accessible Market for “Not-USA” would be a good thing too. The X10 is already a pretty fast phone, but it’ll be great when 2.x hits it. :-)
