The company behind the twin pillars of AWESOME that are Windows Mobile and Kin has today had the AUDACITY to dismiss Android, with Steve Ballmer sticking the knife into Google’s mobile machinations during a video interview with CNN Money.
Ballmer’s finest and most characteristically bewildering quote is… “I wouldn’t do what Google’s doing, I don’t think it makes any sense.”
So managing to grow your userbase by over 700% in your homeland between 2009 and 2010 doesn’t make any sense according to Microsoft? Steve, you’ve gone and done it again.
“There’s nothing free about Android… I wouldn’t do what Google’s doing, I don’t think it makes any sense” – Steve Ballmer.
The full (but very brief) video interview with ever-unpredictable MS mouthpiece Ballmer can be watched – through your hands in terror – over at Fortune.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ May 22, 2010I watched the video on the CNN sight and had to replay the part several times
to hear what Ballmer said. It’s like the only thing they can do is bash open source but have no facts to back it up just tell the lie enough times and the masses will believe it. What I do not understand about M$ business plan is how they feel that they can push bad products on their customers and think they are doing such a great job?

He might want to go look at an iPod and then come back and see how stupid that comment is.
Balmer is a sweaty fat, bald retard.

/ May 22, 2010Unfortunately they can push bad products and think they are doing such a stellar job is because there is a ridiculous amount of people who always use their products and they can say that strictly based off sales statistics.
Half the reason they bash Android is because they are pissed they didn’t think of doing it this way before Google did. At least that’s my impression of it as there is no actual business reason to be bashing it.
