Gianfranco Lanci, the CEO of Acer, took to the stage earlier today to show off a few new Acer products – the most exciting of which was a 7″ Android-powered tablet that fits a physical keyboard beneath its screen in a very glamorous-looking portrait-orientation format.
As crazy as that sounds, many users are still keen on the reliable old QWERTY keyboard format – if this is priced sensibly when it arrives (in “Q4″) it could do some serious business.
Here’s Gianfranco showing the Acer tablet off to the crowd:
Looks very nice indeed. Hopefully Acer will soon send out some proper product shots of this prototype unit, as we suspect this kind of QWERTY combo-tablet could well get a lot of people very, very excited.
Link and photo via the wonderfully-named Shufflegazine, which is also suggesting Acer may go down the operator subsidy route when distributing the thing.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
