Samsung reveals Samsung Galaxy Tab – 7″ Android tablet

One of Samsung’s regional Twitter accounts has just confirmed those rumoured Samsung Android tablet plans, uploading this image – and describing it as the Samsung Galaxy Tab. A follow-up tweet confirmed the following info about the new Samsung tablet:

“This particular one is a 7″ model and has a high-res TFT screen. At the top-end it has a 3.5mm jack”

And here’s the photo. That’s a Samsung Galaxy S to the left, on the right is the Galaxy Tab. The pic comes via the SamsungBlogSA Twitter account, which describes itself as the “official Twitter channel for the Samsung Blog” in South Africa. Sounds official. This must be real:

We’ve not been particularly excited about the flurry of Chinese-made, generic Android tablets, to be honest – but a high-quality, Samsung-made one is something we’d very much like to have a play with. And possibly even have to keep.

  1. If this comes with a USB port and runs Froyo it could very well replace my Hackintosh netbook for when I’m on the go.
