Samsung has revealed official shots of the latest entrant in its Corby line of “entry level” phones – and this one’s powered by Android. Currently only Samsung Italy has confirmed the i5500 Corby Smartphone for release, with a rather nice price tag of €199 attached to it – that’s about £165 or $240.
Here it is, looking slightly on the bland side as you might well expect from an affordable smartphone:
Technically speaking, it comes with a 2.8″ touchscreen which is very much the standard on all low-spec Android phones these days, with said screen running at the rather low resolution of 240 x 320 – the same as HTC’s curvier Wildfire. The processor runs at 600MHz, and there’s a 2megapixel camera hole around the back.
It’d just about do, wouldn’t it?

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
