Here’s a good one if you’re after a PAYG Android phone for a shade under that psychological £200 barrier – independent retailer Phones4U is currently doing an X10 Mini for £189. If you have small fingers, it could indeed be the phone.. for…. you.
There’s an extra £10 fee on top for an O2 SIM card, but you can easily pop that out and lose it down the back of the sofa once the phone’s arrived. We suspect the handset will arrive unlocked, as that’s how P4U usually operates – but please check that with them first if you’re buying it to use on another network.
Here’s visual proof of the deal:
The “white/pink” reference is to the supplied snap-on back covers the phone comes with. Sony Ericsson has done a deal with some of the networks to supply exclusive colour variants – like Orange’s lime X10 Mini – so it looks like Phones4U’s stock comes with with and pink back covers.
At least you can use the white one.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ June 13, 2010It would appear that Sony Ericsson got the formula right with the Mini series.
Reception so far is better than with the ‘Maxi’ model (which I have).
