Gizmodo has another one of its trademark hardware reveals today, complete with the usual long explanatory story from the chap who got to have a play with the Motorola DROID 2 – or at least the next Motorola QWERTY slider. Whatever they decide to call it.
To cut a long story short, Motorola was showing some hardware at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (!) and an intern took some photos and had a go on the thing. Lucky him, in more ways than one. Here’s one of his shots of the newer DROID / MILESTONE:
According to the rest of the report on Gizmodo, the “DROID 2″ is curvier than the original DROID/MILESTONE slab and almost exactly the same size, with a slightly wider keyboard layout and a physical button for voice search input.
Looks OK. Americans will love its bulkiness. We’d rather have something glam and ladylike from HTC, but horses for courses and all that.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
