COVER YOUR EYES! Motorola appears to be having a go at capturing itself a bit of the BlackBerry market with this – the Motorola CHARM. It’s a bit top-heavy, to say the least.
According to Engadget today, news of the CHARM comes courtesy of a few leaked images from a T-Mobile US training document, which reveals a comically wide Android handset complete with landscape-format, squared screen and all-out QWERTY beneath it.
Scroll down if you are brave:
That’s mad. Even for Motorola, that’s mad. But could it work? The usability of an always-out QWERTY keyboard would clearly beat a touchscreen for text entry, and the one puzzling hardware hole Android is yet to fill is a decent BlackBerry clone. Good on you for trying at least, Moto.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ June 27, 2010That’s a nasty phone, just what were they thinking of? Nobody would get that out in public!
It reminds me of the nasty NEC QWERTY things that 3 were doing when they first started.
