The rather bonkers Motorola FLIPOUT, the bizarrely hinged Android phone which Motorola describes as a “Rotator QWERTY”, is coming to the UK via the SIM-free retailers very soon. Play.com has given the FLIPOUT a release date of August 11, with a £249 price tag attached to it.
For a quirky Android 2.1 phone that also doubles as a pocket conversation starter, that’s not a bad price. If you don’t mind 2.8″ screens.
If you have something against Play, the FLIPOUT’s also available for pre-order via Clove, which is offering it for £258.50. Like the MILESTONE and XT720, it’s yet another Motorola Android phone that’s hitting the regular retailers before the networks. Odd, that.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
