US Motorola DROID getting Android 2.2 update next week

That didn’t take long. Motorola has announced that the original DROID, which we know over here as the MILESTONE, is getting an update to Android 2.2 – and it’ll start rolling out from next week, complete with Flash 10.1 support from the go.

We can only hope the exhausted European owners of the MILESTONE, fresh from their battles over Android 2.1 and various bug-fixing releases, are ready for another long, long waiting game.

Here’s the DROID 2.2 update tech-spec sheet, courtesy of Verizon:

Poor old Motorola is still launching various regional versions of the Android 2.1 update for the DROID/MILESTONE in parts of Europe. It’s going to be busy. Link via Engadget and Verizon [PDF].
