TweetDeck has been telling people there’s a FAKE app calling itself “TweetDeck” on the Android Market right now, which is charging people money for the download. It’s not TweetDeck, obviously – because that’s only available in beta form as a direct download from the maker.
Here’s the shameful fake TweetDeck’s Android Market listing:
If you read the comments beneath the fake app’s Market listing, you’ll see that a very SELFLESS and GENEROUS man called “Chris” paid the $1 asking fee simply to leave a comment warning others not to buy the app. Chris, you are a hero. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.
We’d imagine Google will be having this pulled rather promptly.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ August 13, 2010He still took the risk. I’d want Chris alongside me in a trench.

/ August 14, 2010The only trench I’m likely to be in is when planting next year’s potatoes.

/ August 14, 2010That would be me.
I didn’t really sacrifice anything since I was able to refund but thanks anyway! :P

/ August 15, 2010Wow! So yesterday an offensive app turns up and it’s quickly deleted. Now a stolen app is on the market and Google takes their sweet time removing it… The message is clear anything does just don’t offend people!
Before you jump on me
I don’t agree the offensive app but I believe in free speech.
I also don’t agree with selling FREE intellectual property.
