StumbleUpon app arrives on Android and iPhone

StumbleUpon, which is a super-popular social web rating tool that millions of people use but no one ever seems to talk about, has released an app for Android. It’s rather simple – you login or create an account, then get pinged with an endless list of web sites from your chosen categories.

You then give them a thumbs up or down, and move on – pausing only to share or read any pages you like. As a way to waste time while connected via wi-fi, it’s great.

The only problem with StumbleUpon on Android is with the entire format of the system itself. Vast numbers of spam sites are submitted, meaning it’s rather rare to actually “stumble” “upon” anything of great interest. It’s basically a Chatroulette of web browsing. Great fun, if you have hours to waste, though.
