The game that was so popular it crashed the GetJar servers this morning has now gone live on the Android Market. Google has more than enough computers to make sure Angry Birds is downloadable by everyone, so if you missed out on this morning’s initial release download frenzy go get it now.
Here it is, sitting among the massive ecosystem of Angry Birds-related spam apps that already fill the Market:
Rather oddly we’re able to reinstall the game through the Market, despite having already installed it this morning. This alternate Google release must make the phone think it’s a different version.
Oh, and look – adverts have been switched on. One just popped up in the corner of the screen when starting a level. Not particularly intrusive, either. Nice one, Rovio. We can live with that.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ October 20, 2010Same, what full screen ads? I’ve almost finished the game and haven’t seen any video or full screen ads. Also, just turn of data/wifi and the ads go away.

/ October 20, 2010I got full screen ads the other day while I was in bed (wifi). It was a video advert for The Social Network movie. Not seen any fulscreen/video ads when on 3G though and anyway its easy to backup out of. I hadn’t thought about disabling data when playing though. Thanks for the tip :)

/ October 29, 2010I don’t mind the banner ads, but the full screen video ads can burn in hell. Just turn off all wifi connections or put the phone in Flight mode. This seemed to get rid of these intrusive ads for me.
