While much of the blog-o-sphere has only just got around to writing up last week’s news about Android Angry Birds smashing through the seven million downloads level, maker Rovio has today confirmed the game has now been downloaded by an astonishing eight million Android users.

As well as this news, Rovio’s Twitter staffer has revealed that the Christmas Edition of the game and its extra levels will arrive on Android “any day now”.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
