Samsung’s 7″ Galaxy Tab Android tablet continues its astonishing PRICE CRASH, with UK electrical retailer Comet now selling the thing for £399. That’s almost an impulse-level credit card price.
If you can wait until after Christmas for your Tab, delivery is free too – if not there’s a £5.82 postage fee for having the tablet turn up in December. Delivery times vary by location, though, so check the site with your post code if you’re tempted.
Looks like the Galaxy Tab is the retail disaster of the year, despite Samsung’s bullish pronouncements of how many it’s sold.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ December 18, 2010So what do you think the sweet spot will be, between price and obsolescence? Now the price is crashing I’m getting tempted. Will we see £299 before the end of January?

/ December 18, 2010It’s not rocket science really, if it is more expensive than the iPad 9 out of 10 people would buy the iPad. I always said it is worth £299-£350 and that would be the price i would be prepared to pay. I have had a go on both and I think the Vega is better and was half the price.

/ December 18, 2010Early adopters always get burned. At least the first Tab owners have had nearly two months of feeling superior for their money.

/ December 18, 2010Just picked one up at CEX, very nice.
Im more impressed than i thought i would be, and thats from someone who wont use android as a phone. As a tablet, it comes alive.

/ December 18, 2010What on Earth made you purchase a second hand Galaxy Tab from CEX who sell them for more than Comet want for a brand new one?
Pray to God that you never have any hardware issues with your purchase. CEX are exactly well known for quality customer service…

/ December 19, 2010It hits £299 – £250, it will start to fly. Once it starts to shift real units at that price point, it’ll hit £199 by next summer…
