Looks like Carphone Warehouse wasn’t exactly overrun with orders when it announced plans to sell the Nexus S at a lofty £549 – as it’s now SLASHED the price of the upcoming Android phone to £429.99 for an unlocked, SIM-free model.
That makes much more sense. And it might now sell a few. You have to remove the insane £129.99 “Geek Squad” insurance policy at the checkout to get the new price… which makes us wonder if this was the case all along?
Nexus S monthly contract prices have been reduced, too – you’re now able to order it with an O2 or Vodafone SIM for £30 per month. It’s now priced like a normal telephone, basically. Check out the revised Nexus S packages here – click on “Handset Only” for the new unlocked price.
Thanks to readers J and Ade for the tip.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
