The HTC Wildfire floodgate are open. We’ve already seen Vodafone update its Wildfires to Android 2.2 this week and now it’s T-Mobile UK’s turn – which has said it’s launching the over-the-air update for its version of the Wildfire right now.
Here’s T-Mobile’s comment:
As you will have seen HTC have announced that Android 2.2 will begin rolling out for the HTC Wildfire this week. We are pleased to confirm that customers with T-Mobile branded handsets will be receiving this update at the same time. As with all HTC updates this will be a phased release over the coming weeks and you will receive an alert on your handset when it is ready to update
Beware those two words of frustration – “phased update”.
We’ve heard that polishing the screen vertically rather than horizontally makes the update notification arrive quicker. But haven’t tried that out personally.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
