Video: Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY gaming trailer

Sony Ericsson’s just revealed everything about its Xperia PLAY Android gaming phone, claiming there will be “over 50″ games available for it at launch. That figure presumably refers to custom PlayStation Certified titles that have been built for the format, as it’ll also play all the standard Android games already on the Android Market.

Here’s the trailer. We can spot Assassin’s Creed and Guitar Hero. Bit rusty on the modern video game scene, to be honest.

And FIFA. There’s a FIFA. Good to have EA onboard from launch. From a commercial perspective.

this device looks great, but yet again i feel let down with sony. They make a gaming phone, yet the internal memory is 400mb??? i understand that the ps1 games will run off the sd card, but still alot of android games are being supported as well, ive already seen fifa onit, so this means there isnt much room for that many games. I have a desire so i understand the pains of small internal space, so much so that i had to s-off my desire and run the oxygen Hboot so i get 315mb internal space, but thats still no where near enough, i have to use apps2sd and make an external partition. The end result is great makes the desire a top phone even after it turns one, i still feel it can punch with all these newer phones, obvs the dual cores have advantages but i dont feel it can run games that my phone cant.

  2. Without the Sony/Ericsson UI on top of Gingerbread (preventing you from getting most future Android OTA updates), this would be an almost perfect device… :’-(
