And so the roll-out of the stars of Mobile World Congress 2011 begins. Amazon UK is now listing the HTC Desire S, with a launch date of April 18 attached to the new Android phone. And this is for a phone dispatched direct from Amazon, so that date ought to be pretty reliable – it’s not a third-party retailer trying to grab some cash with a pretend date.
The price isn’t particularly bad, either – £419.99 including delivery. Still a lot of money in these austere times, but less frightening than it could’ve been.
The site’s not yet listing the HTC Incredible S. All a search for that brings up is a load of opportunistic accessory suppliers. Link via Phandroid. (UPDATE: The reason the Incredible S is not on Amazon is because it’s a CPW/Best Buy exclusive. As we already said. Whoops. Thanks, Stoosh).

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ February 17, 2011That is not a bad price at all – there are less well known retailers selling it for under £400 so maybe it will come down a bit more.
I also notice the original HTC Desire is starting to come down in price on the unlocked retailers as well – some even relatively reputable sites have it for under £300. At those prices not sure who would buy a HTC Wildfire S – as I understand it the Wildfire S can’t hold a candle to the original Desire, and yet is at a similar price.

/ February 24, 2011I thought the price should be lower, considering the Samsung S2 and the fact that desire & incredible are not flagship phones..
