It’s a big day for Android gaming today, thanks to publisher Namco finally putting a version of Firemint’s well-reviewed Flight Control game up on the Android Market. It’s rather expensive, mind, with a price tag of $4.99 attached to it. And there’s no free trial version – the game known as “Flight Control Lite” is actually a spam product that bears no relation to this.
Also, as the comments on the game’s Android Market listing note, the game only costs $0.99 on iTunes. We’re getting the oddly brown end of the stick, it would seem.
Over on its blog, Firemint points out that this Android version was developed by Namco, so any whinges should not be aimed at poor Firemint.
In fact, you may be better off with the existing Android air traffic sim Flight Director, which has been available for well over a year and offers a very similar experience.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

Don’t waste your cash on Flight Control until it matches the itunes pricing.

/ February 19, 2011i suggest rooting your phone, install a custom rom, and make sure the rom supports app2sd, Then use rom manager to partition your sd card, and bingo, all your apps will install onto the partition instead of your internal memory. ( am guessing the htc desire but to be fair theres a few too many you could have )

/ February 19, 2011You don’t even have to use apps2sd. Just root the phone and instal “Move2SD enabler (root)” from the market which can move stubborn apps to the SD card.

/ February 20, 2011I have decided to leave rooting until HTC start ignoring my Desire. Should be good for at least one more update.
It is a shame that people feel the need to root their phones to get features they should already have. If I wanted that I would have bought an iphone.
