According to the fascinating Advent Vega Twitter account, the near-mythical Tegra 2 Android tablet is about to arrive in more physical shops from this Wednesday. There’s a massive list on the Advent Vega web site here which lists each individual store.
If you see men queuing outside PC World retail park stores on your commute to work tomorrow, that’s what they’re doing.
It’s still a PC World/Currys/Dixons conglomerate exclusive, but it looks like a massive boat has arrived with a decent amount of stock this time.
Motorola’s latest flagship dual-core Android monster is a massive, original powerhouse, that’s a big improvement on previous MOTOBLUR mobiles – but still isn’t a total winner.
A slim and glamorous phone from Sony Ericsson, with the sharpest display around. It’s no powerhouse and the screen’s not the biggest out there, but we don’t mind. Because it’s cute.
LG’s first glasses-free 3D phone is a heavy, fat monster, with a clever 3D effect that works rather well. As a smartphone, though, it’s heavy and underwhelming.
A very shiny thing from Sony Ericsson, with a 3.7″ screen and Android 2.3.3 inside. But is it exciting enough to win fans in today’s spec-obsessed market? Can man live on one core alone?
INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ February 25, 2011I got mine earlier in the week. Out of the box it’s nice but limited. Once you put Modaco on it becomes incredible vfm. The only downside is the poor viewing angle on the screen but that’s a problem with any lcd screen though definitely more so with the Vega than with, say, an iPad.
I was concerned about standby battery life but even that seems decent.
I’ve had one of those 100 dollar Android tablets in the past and the Vega is outstandingly better.
