There’s some pretty great news floating about for Samsung Galaxy S owners today, with official confirmation that the phone is indeed scheduled to get an update to the Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” version of the OS.
The news comes via hacking forum XDA, which has discovered an official Samsung beta test build of Android 2.3.2 for the Galaxy S on a random Polish forum. It works. They’re installing it now.
Which means unofficial versions of this official release will be out soon – followed by an officially official Samsung update over the coming months. And that’s official.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
