UK network Orange has launched a new Android app today, which combines e-reader functionality with a book shop. Its Orange Book Club also lets you download out-of-copyright classic books, plus it includes a “one click buy” option to have purchases of new things billed direct to you account.
Prices start at 50p. It also lets users access their purchases via PC and other devices.
Get it via the Android Market. You don’t have to be an Orange user in order to install it, either. Bit of a shame they’re charging money for out-of-copyright classics, though. That’s a bit off. How have they come to the conclusion that Pride & Prejudice “was” £5.00 when the service has only just launched, eh?

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ March 17, 2011Aldiko is the best eBook reader I’ve found. Volkorn font, size 24, margins 30, line spacing 1.5, left alignment. Actually readable.
Though… I’d like a book reader that allows me to scroll up and down (forever) rather than flip pages. Anyone seen one that does that?
