That crazy Sony Android clamshell tablet that has been rumoured and pictured in sketch form for several months has been confirmed and shown off by Sony today – it’s the Android powered Sony Tablet S2.
The company unveiled two new Android devices overnight, with the S1 your standard 9.4″ black slab (with odd ‘folded’ sides) and the crazy, dual-screened S2 – which has touchscreen controls on the bottom screen. Both are PlayStation Certified for gaming integration and run Android 3.0.
Rather oddly, these tablets are made by “Sony” without the involvement of Sony Ericsson. Which explains why the S2 seems to be a weird clash with the existing Xperia PLAY.
Imagine running Android 3.0 on that! Madness. Link via VG247. We have the announcement video and more hardware shots below:

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
