The saga of the released then withdrawn Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.3 update continues, with Vodafone providing its users a new status report on the Gingerbread upgrade for users who bought their phones through the network.
It’s on the way. Testing of the fixed version is done. It’s been sent to Google and Samsung for final approval. Probably via Dropbox. Here’s the full explanation:
We’ve worked quickly to turn around testing since Samsung supplied the re-worked version of the Android 2.3 update for the Galaxy S and our technical team has now completed its approvals process.
The update is now with Samsung and Google and we will come back with an update on this thread once they’ve confirmed exactly when it will be made available to Vodafone customers.
At least it’s coming.
One day we’ll all get the latest updates on the same day. One day. One beautiful, sunny, future day.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
