If you’re not aware what a “bootloader” is or does or whether you’ve got one or not, this is not the update for you. If, however, you regularly interact with bootloaders and are troubled by HTC’s decision to start locking them on some of its 2011 range of Android phones…
…a petition aimed at encouraging HTC to cease locking its bootloaders can be found here. It’d make lots of men on the internet happy if HTC was to listen.
Basically it’s so people can install custom builds of Android. A locked bootloader equals less fun for hardcore tweakers.


INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
