The interesting Alcatel OT-990 Android phone has been reviewed by a couple of online sites this week, with both of them giving the new mobile a rather warm reception – and saying it’ll cost £99 when it hits the O2 PAYG range exclusively next month. Which is an impressive price for a 3.5″ capacitive smartphone.
Meanwhile, O2 has separately given the Alcatel Android a “late August” launch date. It’ll arrive with Android 2.2 onboard and a 600MHz processor inside. This is what it looks like:
This post has been cobbled together with data from the reviews uploaded by 3G.co.uk (3/5) and Mobile Choice (“excellent value for money”). There are full tech specs and everything for the OT-990 over on Alcatel’s surprisingly useful web site.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.
