The price of the Motorola XOOM has held up pretty well considering it’s always been the most expensive Android tablet out there (ignoring the laughably priced Optimus Pad), but Motorola’s Android 3.0 device is finally starting to see some decent reductions through the online shops.
Like at Amazon, where the 32GB wi-fi model is now down to down to £404.86 – including free delivery. Which is getting into potential buying territory…
…although we know you lot all prefer the charming Eee Transformer. Which is cheaper. And more up to date.

INQ’s Android phone is an interesting “boutique” piece of hardware, packed with unique interface customisations that go far beyond the headline Facebook integration. We like it a lot.

/ July 25, 2011Something to do with the Samsung Tab 10.1 which is being released soon?
It also seems that Amazon have discounted the Asus – £20 off the 16GB model and £50 off the 32GB model.

/ July 26, 2011I don’t think the Transformer has anything to fear from the Tab 10.1, as after using a Transformer with a dock (keyboard), I would never even consider a tablet-only device.

/ July 26, 2011I sold my advent vega and bought the asus transformer yesterday,…… best tablet availableat the moment. I absolutely love it.

/ July 26, 2011I have a Transformer too, absolutely amazing kit. The transformer is the future of tablets, in that it’s hard to justify £400 for a tablet-only device, but if it works as a netbook too, then it’s cracking value. (I sold my Windows netbook to part-fund my Asus Transformer).

/ July 26, 2011Before you even consider buying a Xoom: Check out the non-US Motorola support forums for the Xoom. Motorola support for the device outside the US is non-existant. People are very angry with Motorola.

/ July 26, 2011I love my Transformer, it RAWKS!

/ July 26, 2011Xoom’s pretty neat, but as others have said the non-US support is lacking. Easy enough to shove US firmware on and update to 3.2 though – takes about ten minutes. Nice bit of kit, especially if it drops below the £400 mark.
